Magnolia hybrid 'Daybreak'Daybreak Hybrid Magnolia | |
A great new Magnolia hybrid sporting large deep pink blooms on a columnar tree. Vigorous grower, eventually reaching 25 feet tall but only 6 feet wide. The 8-inch flowers emerge green, slowly opening to rich pink. They appear very late in the season (May here in Oregon), easily missing any frost damage. Great choice for northern climates. A cross between M. x brooklynensis 'Woodsman' and M. 'Tina Durio' Original tree was raised by August Kehr and is now 40 feet tall x 8 feet wide.
